Because Ideas Can Be Hot And Cold

Siracusa, Italy

The sequence of light and shadow in contrast with the wide roof, encompasses the whole architecture.

The architecture of this villa surrounded by a green oasis was originated from a pre-existing perimeter, completely emptied and then dressed again. The intervention of the Irace studio takes the former rectangular body, drawn by four pillars, as starting point to develop the volumes on different levels, articulating down to the sea. The roof covering made of suspended wooden beams, becomes an encompassing element thanks to the game of light and shadow evolving with the path of the sun.

The material continuity of wood, stone and concrete, eventually meets the glass, in the fusion of the exteriors with the interiors. The architect has chosen the CEA taps for the transparency of the bathroom, in response to the aesthetical and functional needs of the interior design. The decision to use pure stainless steel guarantees eternal life, even in seaside locations.
