LIMINAL HOUSE
Between land and sea
Canada - Vancouver
Liminal House is a contemporary villa that perfectly reflects its name. Located in West Vancouver, it stands on the border between land and sea, between city and nature. The house as explained by the architectural firm Mcleod Bovell, reflects a transitional phase of the life of the clients, as soon to be empty-nesters.
Concrete, Accoya wood and aluminium sheet are the materials that have been selected and used due to their durability and resistance to the coastal environment. The large windows break down the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, while the dark pool animates the environment with reflections.
The house is spread over three floors and 1,000 square meters, complete with a vintage car collection garage, wellness area and office. The upper floors host a large open space living room, kitchen and dining room; finally, bedrooms and other additional rooms.
The contrast of materials elevates and enriches the spaces, while walls and glass frame the views: at Liminal House every glimpse is an experience.
The open plan kitchen is one of the areas that best enjoys the wonderful sea view. The long grey countertop in sintered stone is the protagonist, for which CEADESIGN steel taps in satin finish were chosen.
The bathrooms are also places of extreme serenity and contact with nature. Here, once again, the windows brighten up the atmosphere and offer magical views; from the GIOTTO collection washbasin taps to the GRADI free-standing mixer for the bathtub in stainless steel satin finish, the eye is lost in the horizon of sky and sea.
